Just because you're hot doesn't mean baby is.  I used to get so hot while breastfeeding that I'd have the ceiling fan on max.  During a home visit my Midwife mentioned how cool my daughter felt...and advised against assuming she felt temperatures in the same way I did.
 
You can save A LOT of money by shopping at second hand stores.  Baby's outgrow clothing very quickly so the stuff you buy for your newborn is practically new!  Most of my son's clothes have been bought at children's second hand stores.  He looks good, too!
